Comments about the women division

First off I would like to say that the ladies division this year is awesome. This is my first year coaching in the women division and it is great. We have had 4 tourneys if I am not mistaken and 4 different winners. Looks like this division is going to be the best it has been in a long time. It really is a joy coaching against all you ladies I am use to pitching against in coed. Best decision I have made in my softball career to get involved in the women division.

With that being said there is also something so wrong going on as well. It has nothing to do with the ladies but with Freedom softball. Look my team went 1-3 in the past tourney but regardless if we would of won I would have a problem. I also am not the only that is unhappy with them but yes and I know you all are going to say and that is stop playing in there tourneys. Here is my problem and I just want to know if I am wrong about this. This past weekend there were 4 teams that have either won a tourney or is know for being good quality teams and the most known. So is it fair that the 4 teams are punished and have to play each in the first two roads and be made to play like this past weekend 8 games to win it. I commend All 4 one for fighting thru the losers bracket and getting 2nd after there first game loss to Half Quarter. I think my main complaint is that why should these team (Top Gun, Half Quarter, All 4 one, and Outta Control) be punished like they were. For my team it gave me a gauge of where we stand against the good teams in our division and we got beat up. There is always an excuse with Ken on why he does something and it is always a lie. I talked to 3 of the 4 coaches this past weekend and asked them about the excuse Ken gave me of why we were all paired together and not one of them said they said that to him. I am not knocking any of the other teams in this tourney and saying that they suck. I love the amount of women team out there.

Also one of my questions too is why is there teams that just play in Freedom and not ISA or USSSA. With all the teams I have seen in Freedom that are not going to ISA we could really at some point have a 20 team womens tourney at some point which would be awesome.

In closing I just want to say I am having more fun coaching this year in the women division than I have been playing ball. Looking forward to the rest of the year to come in the women division it should be a great one. See you all soon.

Most teams play Freedom for our prizes we offer.

The way the cookie crumbles you will at some point in a tournament have to play one of the better womens teams why not get out of the way in the beg? you beat them the road to victory gets easier and if you lose then maybe its not your weekend to wear the crown?

I think what Shawn is saying is that it was awfully coincidental that the "top 4" teams matched up in the first round and the second round, for that matter. I'm not complaining, just saying that's the way it was. Also, the road did not get any easier for either the winners or the losers. The winners of the two games met in the next game of the winners bracket and the losers in the next game of the losers bracket. Again, not complaining or placing blame, just saying it's coincidental. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't care who we play.

Whats the definition of a real softball player?

I understand your gripe but at the same time you will at some point have to play those teams and win to win the tournament. if it is the first or last game at some point you must face them also in my opinion the top 3 womens teams are Top Guns, Half Q, and CFL as of right now those are 3 to beat.


My wife didnt even play this past weekend and her team went 0-3 anyways so what does that have to do with anything?

Ken is probably not returning your calls due to a cruise that he is on right now, you know my phone line is open and you can call me anytime with the complaints?

Are you saying all womens brackets were pre determined this past weekend?

why is it that you always have to have something to whine and cry about? you could win a tournament and still complain, its amazing!! from what i have heard you were the crybaby who bitched and moaned about your team HAVING to play at auburndale and HAVING to have a 930 draw. if your scrub ass team could have won your first game you could have stayed at auburndale but you couldnt even hang with top guns and they spotted you 5 runs. stop your complaining and start to worry more about your team getting better instead of worrying about who plays who and who gets what draw. how fair would it be for you to have played one of the 0-3 teams? like you said there are 4 strong teams and the rest were pretty weak from what i have heard. they paid the same thing you did plus they probably paid out of pocket unlike you so why not let them win a game or two against some even competition before you or one of the other 3 teams come blow them out.

as far as playing isa or utrip who cares? you played freedom so why bring them up?? but to answer your question isa could give away free cars to the winning team and still not draw enough to hold a tournament. the people in charge there have almost successfully ran it completely into the ground and out of business. and as far as utrip goes they hold 1 tournament every 6 months excluding south florida, so where are you going to play utrip? think before you speak about random shit next time.

and for your real players comment, you were a real player a couple years ago. right now you are lucky to get invited to get the water for a church rec team. some people can play and some cant but its all for fun right? stick to coaching your women and hopefully you guys will perform better at your next tournament when you can swing your own bats.....:eek:

Say what you want I still get called to play every weekend. I choose to coach womens ball over playing mens because of the bullshit drama that gets posted on here fake screen people that want to get on here and run there mouth because there to big of a puss to run there mouth in person.
